An out-of-county man was arrested early Thursday morning after breaking into a Sanilac County business.

Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 5:15 a.m. on February 8, reporting that the Rustic Tavern in Sanilac Township was being broken into. Upon arrival at the scene, officers established a perimeter. As the suspect was seen running from the business and into a wooded area, both a drone and the K-9 unit were sent in after the suspect. The suspect was located a short distance away, taken into custody and then transported to McKenzie Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Port Huron Mclaren Hospital for medical treatment.
