Evidence found in a St. Clair Community College dorm room contributed to the Michigan State Police’s recent arrest of a 19-year-old Port Huron man for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.

Stephen Douglas Hertzfeld was arraigned Tuesday, February 6, in St. Clair County’s 72nd District Court. In addition to the one count of aggravated possession, Hertzfeld was also arraigned on three counts of possessing the illicit material, as well as two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

The investigation began after it was learned the 19-year-old was viewing the illicit material on the internet, which in turn led to digital evidence being seized from his SC4 dorm room.

Hertzfeld is due back in court on Tuesday, February 20, for his probable cause conference.
