Sanilac County residents to vote on millage proposals in next Tuesday’s presidential primary election

Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. next Tuesday, February 27th throughout Michigan for the presidential primary. Meanwhile, early voting is continuing for Sanilac County residents through this Sunday. Voters can cast their early ballot Wednesday and Saturday between noon and 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
In addition to the presidential primary, Sanilac County voters will also cast ballots on four county-wide millage proposals. The 2-mill road millage is for six years. The county-wide library millage and emergency service proposals are both for 2/10 of a mill for four years, and the recycling millage is 15/100 of a mill for four years. Custer Township voters will decide on a zoning referendum. Residents in the Peck school district will vote on a 10-year sinking fund millage, and residents in the Brown City library district will vote on a 1.2 mill increase to cover library operations and improvements.
