A Huron County man was arraigned last week for possession of child pornography.
24-year-old Zachary Scott Lemanski was arrested for possession of child sexually abusive material, child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime.
An investigation into his activities began after authorities learned Lemanski was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet. A search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized. He was arraigned in Huron County’s 73B District Court on Tuesday, February 22. The Michigan State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force was assisted on-scene by the Bad Axe Police Department and the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
The task force encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet. There are many resources available to parents to assist in keeping children safe online. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provides a comprehensive list of resources on their website at http://www.missingkids.org.
If you have information regarding possible child sexual exploitation, report it to the CyberTipLine at http://www.missingkids.org/cybertipline.
