Sanilac County turns over almost 330 lbs of unused/expired pills during April Drug Take Back Day

The Sanilac Drug Task Force is proud to announce  that they, along with local police collection drop locations, turned over to the D.E.A. 328.8 lbs. of unused or expired pills as part of the April 27th D.E.A. National Drug Take Back Initiative.
Of participating agencies, Brown City Police collected 2.8 lbs., Croswell Police 20.4 lbs., Deckerville Police 20.2 lbs., Lexington Police 14 lbs., and Marlette Police 25.2 lbs.
The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Task Force, which also covers the Peck and Sandusky Police Departments, collected since last fall a total of 246.2 lbs.
The medications collected have been turned over to the D.E.A. for proper disposal that is generally done by incineration. The drop boxes are available to dispose of your unused or expired medications year-round or pickup arrangements can be made by calling the Sanilac County Drug Task Force at 810-648-4580 or your local police department.
