19-year-old Port Huron man seriously injured following traffic incident

A 19-year-old is in serious critical care after a traffic incident late last night in Port Huron. Port Huron Police were called to the 2700 block of 24th Street around 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, after witnesses reported a man lying in the road with serious injuries.
Investigation found that the injured man, a 19-year-old from Port Huron, had been skateboarding and holding onto a vehicle when he fell, struck the pavement and sustained several facial and skull fractures. He was transported to McLaren Macomb Hospital by Tri-Hospital EMS, where he is currently in serious critical care. The driver of the involved vehicle is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
In addition to the police department’s Road Patrol, Criminal Investigative Division, and Accident Investigators being dispatched to the scene, also on scene were the Port Huron Fire Department and Tri – Hospital EMS. The roadway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
