Three Port Huron businesses were cited for selling alcohol to a minor during a compliance check yesterday by local police.
The Port Huron Police Department conducted a compliance check of 31 local stores licensed to sell alcohol under the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, with 28 of the stores refusing to sell alcohol to the underage decoys during the operation on Monday, May 13.
However, the following Port Huron businesses were not in compliance, and thus were cited during the operation: Ryan’s Party Store, located at 1837 Pine Grove Avenue; Joe’s Party Stop at 2304 Hancock Street; and the Sunrise Convenience Store/BP Gas Station (BP) at 2539 Pine Grove Avenue.
The Port Huron Police Department would like to thank all of the stores that were found to be in compliance and encourage all licensed establishments to check IDs to prevent the use of alcohol by underage minors.
