An accident in Sanilac County’s Marion Township yesterday morning resulted in a Marlette woman being injured and temporarily trapped in her vehicle.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call shortly after 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, reporting a single vehicle accident on Deckerville Road near Big Creek Road in Marion Township. Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies, as well as the Deckerville Fire Department and Sanilac County EMS, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found a 24-year-old Marlette woman trapped in her vehicle, with the fire department freeing the woman and Sanilac EMS transporting her to Deckerville Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Investigation by the Sheriff’s Office thus far found that the woman had been driving west on Deckerville Road in her 2016 Kenworth semi-truck when she lost control and entered the road’s south ditch. Entering the ditch caused the vehicle to overturn, which led to the woman being trapped.
The accident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office
