Two arrested in Casco Twp after police negotiation, less lethal tactics used

handcuffs-2

Two men were arrested early this morning in St. Clair County’s Casco Township following a drive-by shooting, with law enforcement having to negotiate with the men to surrender without incident.
The Eastpointe Police Department reported early Tuesday, June 25, that a man had been involved in a drive-by shooting and was suspected to be headed toward Americana Estates in Casco Township.
Deputies from both the St. Clair and Macomb County Sheriff Departments, the St. Clair County Special Response Team, Port Huron Search and Rescue, Richmond Police and St. Clair County Sheriff K-9 Brock responded to the scene.
Upon approaching the residence, law enforcement observed two men, one carrying a rifle, exit the home with a woman, though the men quickly retreated into the home as law enforcement approached and the woman remained outside to speak with them.
Responders attempted negotiation and deploying less lethal tactics to have the men exit the home, but to no avail at first. Additional less lethal tactics were used and both men surrendered without incident, with no one injured during the incident.
The two men are now in the custody of the Eastpointe Police Department.
