Two injured during Saturday morning crash in Elk Township

Two Sanilac County residents were injured during a Saturday morning two-vehicle crash in Elk Township.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call shortly before 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, reporting an accident on Peck and Paldi Roads in Elk Township, with the sheriff’s office dispatched to the scene with Elk Township Fire and Marlette EMS.
Investigation found that 31-year-old Marlette man was eastbound on Peck Road in his 2020 Chevrolet Colorado when he attempted to turn into a private drive and instead turned in front of a westbound 2012 Chevrolet Sonic and its driver, a 28-year-old woman from Peck. 
Both drivers were injured in the accident and were treated on scene by Elk Township Fire and Marlette EMS. The Peck woman was transported to Port Huron McLaren while the Marlette man was also transported to Marlette Hospital for further treatment of their injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
