A MSP sergeant from the Caro Post seized three handguns from a driver after stopping them for speeding.
The sergeant was traveling north on I-75 in Bay County shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, when he observed a vehicle approaching him from behind and at a high rate of speed.
Activating the rear radar, the sergeant saw the approaching vehicle was traveling 127 mph in a 70 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the 22-year-old driver from Waterford, with the officer seizing three handguns during the stop as the driver did not have a concealed weapons permit.
The incident’s report, once completed, will be turned over to the Bay County Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.
