Port Huron woman wins $100,000 second chance prize from Michigan Lottery

Scanning a few non-winning tickets paid off for a Port Huron woman who won $100,000 playing the $300,000,000 Extraordinaire second chance game.

Jami Hawkins, 42, won $100,000 after she was selected in a random drawing that took place Sept. 10. She earned entries into the giveaway by scanning non-winning $300,000,000 Extraordinaire tickets on the Michigan Lottery app.

When she received a voicemail from the Michigan Lottery, telling her of her $100,000 second chance prize, she thought it was a scam. However, once Hawkins called the Lottery back and an employee confirmed the prize, that’s when it hit her it was real.

Hawkins recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to take a tropical vacation.
