Sanilac County authorities report that neither drugs or alcohol were involved in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning.

Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 14, reporting a two-vehicle crash on Lakeshore Road, near Harrington Road, in Lexington Township. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies, Croswell EMS and Lexington Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

Initial investigation determined that a 1982 Ford pickup, driven by a 26-year-old Minden City man, was traveling south on Lakeshore Road when he struck the rear end of a stopped garbage truck. The truck, which was on the side of the road with its caution lights activated, was driven by a 58-year-old woman from Gagetown.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Port Huron McLaren by Croswell EMS for treatment of injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
