Clyde Township man arrested, arraigned on aggravated distribution/possession of inappropriate material

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Thomas Jacob Hinkle, 44 of St. Clair County’s Clyde, for crimes related to inappropriate material involving minors.

Hinkle was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his residence. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Hinkle was distributing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Hinkle was charged with one count of aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive material, two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and three counts using a computer to commit a crime.

Hinkle was arraigned in the 72 District Court last Friday, October 11, and will be back in court for his probable cause conference next Tuesday, October 22.
