accident

An accident in Buel Township on Saturday afternoon minorly injured a semi-truck driver from Peck.

Sanilac County Central Dispatch were called shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, with the caller reporting a single vehicle injury accident on Peck Road, west of Fargo Road, in Buel Township. Deputies were dispatched to the scene with the Croswell Police Department, Croswell Fire and Croswell EMS.

Initial investigation found that a 2004 Western Star semi-truck was being driven east by a 24-year-old Peck man when he attempted to avoid a collision with the vehicle stopping in front of him to turn left. Though the man attempted to go around the stopped vehicle, he instead lost control of his semi, causing it to overturn.

He received minor injuries, and was transported by Croswell EMS to Port Huron McLaren Hospital. Alcohol and or drugs were not factors in the crash and the occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
