UPDATE, November 1, 2024: the suspects have been identified.
The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with a retail fraud investigation.
The theft occurred at the Hilltop Truck Stop, located at 3873 S. Van Dyke Rd in Marlette Township, on October 30, at around 9:40 PM.
According to the store clerk, an unknown white man, with a slim build and wearing a black sweatshirt with white stripes, entered the store. The suspect took a pint of Tito’s vodka and a canister of whipped cream refill (Whip-it / Nitrous Oxide) and left the store without paying.
He was seen getting into the passenger side of a silver four-door Jeep with a sunroof, with the Jeep last seen heading north on Van Dyke Road. Pictures of the individuals are online on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
