(PORT HURON) — The Clyde Township man accused of using a machete to rob a Port Huron Dairy Queen last November has pleaded guilty to the armed robbery charge. 30-year old Andrew Bowen was scheduled to go to trial next Tuesday. Officials say Bowen entered the restaurant on Military Street the evening of November 17 and ordered a blizzard. As the clerk rang up the purchase, the man pulled out a machete and told the clerk to back up. He then reached into the register drawer and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. Tips through the CAPTURE hotline lead to Bowen’s arrest two days after the heist. His bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety and sentencing has been set for April 18.
