The Carsonville – Port Sanilac Schools has an opening on its Board of Education due to the resignation of longtime member, Louise Blasius, who is moving out of state.
The Board will also be filling the CPS represented seat on the Sanilac County Intermediate School Board also held by Blasius. The vacancy shall be filled by the Board using the following process: Applicants are to submit a notice of their interest (in writing) to Renzie Milarch, BoE President, Carsonville – Port Sanilac Schools, 100 N. Goetze Road, Carsonville, MI, 48419. The letter of interest may be mailed, dropped off at the Superintendent’s Office during regular school hours or emailed to dmuxlow@cpsk12.us.
The Board will interview candidates, discuss, and fill the vacancy in open session at a regular board meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10, 2025. Appointment shall be by majority vote of the Board. The letter of application is due by 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position until the November 3, 2026 election has been held and certified and a newly elected individual has been sworn-in. Please contact the Superintendent’s Office at 810-657-9393 for any questions.
To be eligible, a person must be a qualified school elector. This means: A registered voter and resident in the Carsonville-Port Sanilac School district, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the State of Michigan for at least 30 days.
