The Croswell City Council announced the retirement of several of the City’s longtime members, including City Clerk Suzanne Dobson and Treasurer Susan Vallee, at Monday night’s meeting.
Dobson’s retirement is effective Monday, March 31, 2025, with Vallee’s to follow on Friday, April 18, 2025. Both Dobson and Vallee have served the community for many years. Council members accepted their retirements with regret. City Administrator David Tait will be reviewing job descriptions for their positions in the coming days, along with informing the council of potential developments.
Last week’s vote for mayor pro tempore also resulted in a stalemate between Denise Slone and Donald Maury. With all council members present, however, voting for the position proceeded without incident. Slone received 3 votes to Maury’s 2 and was ultimately reelected as mayor pro tempore, having been sworn in by Dobson.
The next upcoming city council meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m.
