A Thursday night rollover accident in Moore Township resulted only in minor injuries for the driver, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a report shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Ubly Road near Urban Road in Moore Township. Deputies and Sanilac EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a 2000 Ford Ranger, driven by a 25-year-old Deckerville man, was traveling north on Ubly Road when it encountered a patch of black ice caused by strong crosswinds. The driver lost control, veering into the southbound lane before attempting to regain control and reentering the northbound lane. The vehicle then left the roadway, overturned in the east-side ditch, and came to rest on its roof in an adjacent farm field.
The driver, who was the sole occupant, was treated on scene by Sanilac EMS for possible minor injuries and declined further medical treatment.
