UNDATED (AP) – Prince is dead. The performer seen as one of the most unique and influential musicians of our time was found dead at his home today near Minneapolis. He was 57. His passing comes as a shock to the music word – as the passing of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston were before him. Prince was reported ill with the flu over the weekend but otherwise had no reported serious health issues. Standing just over five feet tall, Prince rapidly grew into a force in the music world, bursting on the music in the late 1970s with songs like “I Wanna Be Your Lover” and cemented his place in the pop world with albums like “Purple Rain” and “1999.” His guitar playing was considered legendary, reminding many of Jimi Hendrix – and a voice that could soar into a falsetto.
