Representative Howell’s bill helps students prepare for workforce

(AREA) — State Representative Gary Howell of North Branch has introduced legislation allowing students to take a course of study more suited to vocational and technical education. House Bill 5684 would give students the option of taking a statistics class instead of the currently required Algebra II. Statistics is a class geared more toward vocational education. Howell, who serves on the House Committee on Workforce and Talent Development, has made improving vocational and technical education opportunities a priority.
