OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – Ethan Landon allowed just two runs in seven innings and Jordan Zimmerman added a pair of RBIs as Michigan State beat Maryland 4-3 Friday in the Big Ten tournament. Closer Dakota Mekkes induced a game-ending double play for the Spartans (36-18), who are now just one win from a spot in the title game. Zimmerman tied the game at 2 on a home run in the sixth inning and singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth. Nick Cieri brought Maryland (29-26) within 4-3 on a home run in the eighth inning, but Mekkes responded with his seventh save of the season. Tyler Bloom (6-5) took the loss for the Terrapins despite allowing just two earned runs.
