(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) — A 30-year old Imlay City man was sentenced to 13 to 30-years in prison for the armed robbery of the Capac BP gas station in January. Robert Johnson, Jr. was also sentenced Tuesday in St. Clair County to 2 to 4-years for felonious assault. Officials say Johnson pleaded guilty to the charges of armed robbery and felonious assault in April. He admitted to wearing a mask and taking a fake handgun into the Capac gas station before demanding money from the clerk. He fled the scene of the crime in a minivan, which was found abandon on I-69 in Lapeer County. Johnson then turned himself into authorities in Lapeer County. It has not been determined if the handgun was actually fake. The gun has not been recovered by authorities.
