The Sanilac County Historical Society (SCHS) was forced to cancel most of their 2020 events, including their biggest fundraiser of the year. But cancelling those events did not cancel the need for the money they would have raised. Dawn Malek, SCHS administrator, said that the Society depends heavily on the revenue from events to support their general operating expenses, including payroll, utilities, and repairs and maintenance of their 10 acres and 16 historic buildings. She went on to say , “It’s impossible to predict what challenges we might face in 2021, but a successful auction could give us a good financial start to the year. We’re depending on all of our friends and members in the community to support this endeavor”.
